How to express expressions

Hi all

Are there any tutorials anywhere to show how to script? I can’t work out for eh life of me, nor can I find anywhere, some kind of guide as to how to write expressions. I’ve watched every video and seen all the sites but they say “You can do this!” then don’t show you how.
