Record added via record selector not logged?

Hello - my staff are often using the record selector to add new records. It is confusing them that the new record is not being automatically added to the field they click the plus sign from.

IE, their workflow is search to see if a property owner exists, if not - hit the plus and add a new one, then search AGAIN for the just added property owner and select it from the dropdown list.

This works, it just seems a little clunky. I know I could create a manual workflow button to add a new property owner from this page and save the resulting ID to the record the button was pressed on, but wondering if there is a reason that doesn’t happen automatically here.

I guess this is something introduced in the new version. If I understand this correctly, then yea it makes sense and can confuse people. The + button should maybe inside the search, so that people only create a new record if they can’t find existing.
